I have over 10 years experience of delivering psychological therapy in the NHS. To understand more about Clinical Psychology please read more here.
I offer specialist assessment and treatment for adults who are experiencing a range of difficulties or issues. My areas of expertise are:
Adjusting to and coping with physical health problems including chronic pain
I am also able to help with a range of other issues such as stress, phobias, low self-esteem, resilience building
and bereavement and loss. If you would like to discuss a particular issue not listed please contact me to see if I may be able to help.
No two people or their experiences are the same and I don't follow a one-size-fits-all approach. I work with individuals using one or more approach(es) that fit their unique needs and goals. Clinical Psychologists are skilled in identifying which treatments/therapies are likely to be helpful based on a psychological understanding of the difficulty/issue we are focussing on. This is based on scientific research.
I am trained in a range of therapies and often draw upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy among others.
Any therapy suggested will be explained in more detail during the assessment stage and agreed together.
